We're back with a bang after our summer break!

You're going to love our MC tonight Dave Twentyman. Affable, quick witted banter that will put a smile on your face and warm up the room perfectly for our headliners Jeff Innocent and Steve Gribbin.

Jeff Innocent was voted Best UK Live Comic last year. Says it all really! Clever, honest, funny, hugely likeable comedy.

It should be made law that every British Citizen must go and see Jeff Innocent. He's that funny - Evening Standard

Steve Gribbin will have you crying with laughter. A vertically-challenged Scouser with a guitar, savage lyrics and a voice that will break your heart, he's topical, incisive, witty and bloody-minded. One of our favourite acts.

Boundless energy and enthusiasm. A triumph - Gigglebeats

Back after our summer break and we're delighted to welcome the fantastic Mike Wilkinson back to the stage as MC. Dry as a bone humour and bag loads of Northern charm. We love him to bits - he even brought us eggs from his smallholding last month!

Mike will be welcoming the ready wit and guitar playing skills of Scouser Steve Gribbin. One of best musical acts we've seen, his political witticisms and incredibly clever observations are comedy gold.

Intelligent and astute comedy ...a razor sharp barrage of jokes. - Broadway Baby

There's a reason Jeff Innocent was voted Best UK Live Comic last year. He's blinking hilarious! A veteran comic whose confidence and honesty win him fans wherever he plays.

He commands the room, hits strong gags with confidence and style and has the audience bending to his every whim. In short, he's one funny man - whatever the environment - Chortle

We don't just do comedy...

We're Delighted to announce an up close and personal date with Mark 'fresh from Glastonbury coverage' Radcliffe!

Radio and television presenter, musician, writer, friend of the stars and all round cheese fetishist Mark Radcliffe has been making a little go a long way for several decades now.

This show is no exception. Expect songs and stories of middle-aged angst and ennui along with tales of ineptitude and encounters with some of music's most famous names who Mark has on speed dial. Even if his calls are blocked at the other end.

He's finally run out of friends and so now has no choice but to go it alone.

After our usual Summer Break, Big Mouth is Back! With a killer line up of some of our absolute faves.

Andy White's madcap brand of stand up veers from deadpan to loud and physical, he can be daft, brutal, topical, sick and quick! A one man rollercoaster ride, who also won the Celebrity Weakest Link once!

Junior Simpson was called a 'Vibrant Raconteur' by The Guardian, a lapsed choir boy that's graced the silver screen in Love Actually, and has a wealth of comedy experience under his belt making him a tour de force of stand up. GloriousManagement

The new Lenny Henry - The Times

Excellent - The Daily Mail

Plus one more act to be announced, and all held together by legendary Barry Dodds who will be your MC for the night.

Our MC tonight needs no introduction. Jason 'comedy gold' Cook is star and writer of BBC2's Hebburn and quite simply one of the funniest men on the comedy scene.

Geoff Norcott claims to be the UK's only declared Conservative comedian. (Wonder what Jim Davidson has to say about that?) He's never off the telly - you might even have seen him on Question Time! Right leaning but well-meaning, he's also an in demand writer having worked on everything from 8 Out of Ten Cats to The Sarah Millican show.

Norcott is an absolute tonic **** - Telegraph

Master of anecdotal story-telling **** - Edinburgh Festivals Magazine

Genuine iconoclast…more importantly he makes it funny - Chortle

Eleanor Tiernan abandoned her civil engineering training to become a stand-up in 2004 – and within her first year appeared on RTE's The Liffey Laughs and BBC's One Night Stand.

In 2007, she starred in the Edinburgh Fringe play Help!, and made her solo show debut the following year. She then played to more than 120,000 people as the support act for her cousin, Tommy Tiernan, on his Bovinity tour. She also played the ditzy waitress, Emer, on RTE2's youth-orientated chat show The Cafe.

The fastest-rising comedy talent in the country - Irish Times

Her laid back delivery and engaging stories are both interesting and unique - Finhouse Comedy

Our man in the middle tonight is up and coming Pete Selwood and we're predicting a very big future for him. Remember where you saw him first!

Once described as 'as frisky as a terrier on heat', Mandy Knight is a true dame of British stand-up comedy. The first female comedian to compere that bastion of old-school stand-up The Comedy Store, our Mandy has been breaking down barriers all her life.

After a traumatic childhood of abuse and social uncare, she attended the famous Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. After becoming fully-trained as a classical actress, and then using her diploma to spend four years in the traditional acting alternative career as a waitress, she decided to ditch the period frocks and the pinafore and enter the world of stand up comedy. When asked why, Mandy said it was due to an irrational fear of a life in fringe theatre, exploring her inner child by pretending to be an oak tree, a fridge or a tambourine. It is a decision she has never regretted. After almost 20 years as a comedian, Mandy Knight remains one of the most respected and loved stand-ups in the business by both fellow comics, promoters and punters alike.

As a stand up Mandy Knight has headlined all over the world and has deservedly scooped the Best Female Comedian title at a host of different awards ceremonies over the years, including most recently the Time Out Best Female Comic gong.

Inspired comedy - Time Out

Co-headliner tonight is Stuart Goldsmith and whether cheering up a distressed child, helping prevent a riot, or genuinely saving another human's actual life, he is excellent in a crisis! When the chips aren't down however, it's a very different story... Exhilarating stand-up about embracing anxiety, conquering indecision, and getting tasered.

Intriguing and invigorating - The Scotsman

Marries pitch-perfect audience repartee with cleverly woven tales of the everyday - The Independent

Probably one of the most likeable acts on the circuit - Metro

If you enjoyed Kathryn's 'Northumbrian Voices' this is an unmissable show for you!

I can't remember feeling so exhilarated by such a match of music and landscape. - Richard Morrison, The Times (on Kathryn's 'Northumbrian Voices').

Kathryn Tickell is the foremost exponent of the Northumbrian pipes, a composer, educator, performer and successful recording artist. Over a career spanning 25 years she has released 15 of her own albums to date and has also recorded and performed with Sting, The Chieftains, Penguin Café Orchestra, Jon Lord, Evelyn Glennie, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, London Sinfonietta and many others. His work is translated into 40 languages, and is widely adapted for stage and screen. His major awards include The Carnegie Medal, two Whitbread Awards, The Eleanor Farjeon Award, The Michael L Printz Award (USA), Le Prix Sorcieres (France) and The Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. In 2010 he won the Hans Christian Andersen Award, the world's most prestigious prize for children' authors. He is Professor of Creative Writing at Bath Spa University and lives in Northumberland.

A writer of visionary, Blakean intensity. - The Times

A Tyneside Dylan Thomas, and it is impossible not to be swept up in the power of his storytelling. - Daily Telegraph

Amy Thatcher is an accordionist and clog dancer based in the north east of England. Amy is a key member of several well known folk acts in the UK including Kathryn Tickell's The Side, The Shee, and the electronic folk super-group, The Monster Ceilidh Band. Her musical upbringing owes a lot to Stockport's famous 'Fosbrook's Folk Education Trust' with whom she trained from the age of eight on accordion, fiddle, piano and clog dancing. During this time Amy was taught by, and recorded with, accordion virtuoso Murray Grainger. From 18 onwards she continued her musical education in Newcastle on the prestigious Folk and Traditional Music degree course.
